Behind Broadcasting Live Stream - FIBA 3x3 Lion City Challenger 2026
*SCAPE, Singapore.
From 20-21 June 2026, Label Broadcast provided live streaming contribution services for the FIBA 3x3 Lion City Challenger held at *SCAPE Singapore.
While Label Broadcast has previously supported FIBA-sanctioned competitions through satellite contribution services for events such as the West Asia Super League and FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, this project marked our first deployment of on-site live encoding and streaming services for a FIBA 3x3 tournament in Singapore.
The project required reliable, low-latency delivery of the live programme feed from the venue to FIBA's streaming infrastructure, supported by comprehensive monitoring and operational oversight throughout the tournament.
Live Encoding for Broadcast Quality Delivery
For this deployment, Label Broadcast utilised the Matrox Monarch EDGE S1 encoder to delivery the live programme feed via Secure Reliable Transport (SRT).
The encoder was selected for its ability to meet FIBA's streaming requirements, supporting high-bitrate H.264 video compression and AAC audio encoding while maintaining stable low-latency transmission performance.
Prior to the tournament, our team worked closely with the event organisers and FIBA's technical team to perform end-to-end testing, ensuring all delivery parameters and workflows were fully validated before the first match tipped off.
Beyond Streaming: Comprehensive Quality Assurance
Reliable live streaming requires more than simply pushing video to the internet.
Throughout the tournament, Label Broadcast continuously monitored the outgoing SRT transmission predominately using professional Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring tools from our partner, Elecard, allowing our engineers to verify stream integrity in real time and immediately detect any anomalies.
In addition to transport monitoring, we maintained continuous confidence monitoring of the live programme feed though our VideoAccess platform, providing low-latency visual verification together with audio level monitoring throughout the event.
This layered monitoring approach ensured that both the technical transport quality and the viewer experience remained under constant supervision.

Monitoring the Network Behind the Stream
The venue provided a dedicated fixed internet connection for live streaming operations. To further strengthen transmission reliability, Label Broadcast implemented continuous network monitoring throughout the tournament. By actively observing network performance metrics such as latency, packet delivery and route stability, our engineers were able to maintain visibility across the complete delivery path and rapidly identify any potential network-related issues before they could impact the live stream.
This additional level of assurance forms part of our broader philosophy that successful live streaming depends not only on encoder performance, but also on maintaining visibility across every component of the transmission chain.
Dedicated On-Site Support
A dedicated Label Broadcast streaming operator remained on-site throughout the tournament to oversee setup, testing, transmission monitoring, and operational coordination. Having an experienced engineer physically present at the venue provides immediate first-response capability should any issue arise, while also ensuring direct communication between event organisers, production personnel, and remote technical teams.
For live sport production, where timing is critical and downtime is unacceptable, this operational presence remains an important element of service reliability.

Exceptional Network Performance
One of the highlights of the project was the overall transmission performance achieved during the tournament.
Thanks to the venue's high-quality connectivity, careful encoder tuning, and the proximity of the SRT destination infrastructure hosted within AWS Singapore, the contribution workflow achieved near-perfect transmission reliability throughout the event.
Across the tournament weekend, packet loss remained effectively at zero, delivering approximately 99.9995% to 100% successful packet delivery performance during live transmission.
While network conditions can never be guaranteed, the results demonstrated the value of combining quality venue infrastructure, professional encoding equipment, and proactive monitoring practices.
