Delivering International Football Coverage into Asia - A Multi-Match Contribution Project

Recently, the Label Broadcast team supported the delivery of five international football fixtures as part of a larger pre-tournament football programme, providing turnaround and distribution services for broadcasters across Southeast Asia.
The project involved the delivery of multiple live football matches to broadcast customers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, requiring close coordination across satellite, IP, monitoring and operational teams.
Project Scope
For this project, Label Broadcast provided turnaround services for five international football fixtures involving leading national teams from Europe, South America, and Africa.
Our role was to receive incoming contribution feeds from international gateway or satellites and deliver them to Asia-based broadcasters through a resilient transmission workflow designed for reliability and operational flexibility.
Technical Delivery Workflow
The primary contribution feeds were received from international distribution gateway or Point-of-Presence (POP), including BT Tower and Eutelsat 10B.
Label Broadcast then provided signal turnaround services to AsiaSat 5, including the required satellite space segment arrangements to support regional distribution requirements.
To further enhance resilience, additional SRT-based IP backup paths were established alongside the primary satellite workflow. This ensured that alternate delivery routes were immediately available should any transmission issue occur during the live event.
The combination of satellite and IP delivery provided customers with multiple layers of redundancy while maintaining broadcast-quality transmission standards.
Real-Time Monitoring and Operational Support
Live sports events leave little room for error. To support our customers throughout the transmission window, Label Broadcast provided dedicated operational staffing for the duration of each event.
Our engineers performed continuous visual confidence monitoring while simultaneously using Elecard Boro for real-time Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) analysis.
This approach allowed our team to proactively identify and address potential technical issues before they could impact downstream viewers.
In addition to technical monitoring, our operations team worked closely with customers to manage transmission bookings and satellite usage windows. By actively coordinating booking schedules and transmission timing, we helped customers avoid unnecessary extension charges while ensuring sufficient operational flexibility for each live event.
